Tate Shots: Bob and Roberta Smith

Patrick Brill, better known as Bob and Roberta Smith is a British contemporary artist, writer, authored an art education advocate.

He was the curator for the 2006 Peace Camp and created the 2013 Art Party to promote contemporary art and advocacy. His work has been exhibited around the world and there are collections in many places including Europe and the United States.

I really like Bob and Roberta’s work because i really like the colours as they stand out from each other but still work together nicely.Apart from the colours used in his work he using really bold and clear lettering which makes everything very easy quickly read.

Although, his art is very bright and bold you don’t get distracted from what the sayings mean and what they tell you. I really like his work because he is not only creating art but he is also promoting it. And ensuring people know how important it is for every especially children.

‘Art, images, artifacts, songs; culture are the principal means by which Human beings define themselves.’  – Bob and Roberta Smith.

On the other hand, he is telling people that art is one of the most important and influential things in the world yet his most famous work is only that, he has not got many other paintings or drawings that are known to the public apart from the ones with writing and sayings on them however i do think that these are done with a lot of skill and technique to make them so eye catching.
